Custom thermocouple cable sensors

A thermocouple wire is a transducer which is used to sense, and measure, differences in temperature and this is acheived by constructing a cable with two wires of dissimilar metals joined together. By carefully using different type of metal alloys, a variety of of voltage sensitivity can be achieved.

When choosing a thermocouple consideration should be given to both the thermocouple type, insulation and probe construction. All of these will have an effect on the measurable temperature range, accuracy and reliability of the readings. Please refer to the specification guide for assistance.

Q-S Technologies, Inc. uses fluoropolymer materials that are rated for use from –85°F (-65°C) up to the temperatures shown below. Each material is flame retardant and non-propagating in fire conditions. All are moisture and chemical resistant and accepted for use around food and pharmaceuticals. Tefzel also provides excellent cut through, crush, and abrasion resistance.

  • ETFE 302°F (150°)
  • Tefzel® 392°F (200°)
  • FEP 392°F (200°C)
  • PFA 500°F (260°C)
